Whenever you feel lonely
Look up to the sky
We're under the same sun
And we're all one
Looking eye to eye
We go along
Sing the last song
The song of love
A little, little heart
Gathered altogether
We all go along together This beautiful world
We can't laugh by ourselves
Anything in the world
With our two hands that we hold together
Forming love
This beautiful feeling we have together
Like the flower Gypsophila Comfort each other
And we're all one
A little, little heart
Gathered altogether
We all go along together This beautiful world

Other than watching Korean dramas... i've been reading malay novels too...
One of them is Syurga di hati kita by Zuraidah Othman... one of my favourite malay authors other than Ahadiat Akashah...
it's about how unpredictable the term JODOH can be... and how acceptance and love can be fostered after marriage... the main character having an aunt only a few years older who insists on her so-called confirmed relationship with a certain someone, suddenly finds herself in a predicament when that someone brings news of wanting her hand in marriage instead of her aunt's... the reason being he hadn't loved her aunt at all but by the call of fate, found comfort in the niece instead... though not knowing much about each other... the relationship was sealed with an engagement ring... and they spend time getting to know each other before the following year which they are set for marriage...
the thing that got me thinking is... in the malay-muslim context... we can often hear "pinang-meminang"... some even just try their luck in proposing even though they barely know the girl... ok maybe it's not that rampant in our home country any more... but it is still practiced in our neighbouring country... my own cousin who's a year younger almost accepted one... i asked my mum abt this so-called trend... she knows i'm sceptical about it ... but she tells me that sometimes you never know what the almighty plans for his people... it maybe just one of the routes for some to find their Jodoh...
it's really amazing to see that in the olden days... some of our grandparents barely know each other yet got married and lasted till now with a dozen kids... as compared to now where some people spend their whole lives trying to find the right one or spend years courting but have marriage which lasts barely a few years...
speaking of which.... the current korean drama (Sweet 18) i'm watching also has some relation to this topic i'm blabbing abt now...
an ancient agreement between two harabeoji (grandfathers) to get their sonnyeo (granddaughter) and sonja (grandson) married 18 years later... the girl being 10 years younger is often only thought to be like cute child to the 28 year old husband... yet having lived together, they find themselves falling for each other eventually...
so which would you prefer? would you leave an open-mind to such possibilities?
whoa that's a heavy topic...
whoopsie!
